Improving Lives Key Issues add value to the work of our partner agencies by creating community change that is beyond the capacity of any single agency or group acting alone. That kind of change is very powerful. Rather than focusing on solving immediate needs such as hunger or poverty, Aloha United Way wants to determine how and why those problems occur in the first place. By identifying the contributing factors and working to prevent them, we are better able to permanently improve community conditions.

Aloha United Way is tackling four areas the community has identified as the most pressing Key Issues on Oahu:

• Early Childhood Development
• Homelessness
• Crime and Drug Use
