To guide Aloha United Way’s investments in the five Impact Areas we have formed an Impact Council for each area - Crime and Drug Use, Early Childhood Development, Emergency & Crisis Services, Financial Stability & Independence and Homelessness. The Council consists of community volunteers from all sectors – business, government, nonprofits, and the community at large.
The Councils meet throughout the year and are responsible for:
- Assessing the community's needs in its issue area
- Selecting goals to be achieved
- Reviewing funding availability
- Analyzing program outcomes
- Weighing benefits and costs
- Selecting which nonprofit agencies best meet the needs for its issue area
- Reviewing the performance of the selected agencies and making recommendations on multi-year funding renewals
