About Partnership

Aloha United Way works with a variety of nonprofit organizations to advance the common good in our island community.

Our 96 Partner Agencies deliver a wide range of services to the community through over 500 individual programs.  These include developmental screening programs for 3 and 4 year olds, protection from domestic violence, teen pregnancy prevention, shelter for the homeless and much more. We closely monitor the program delivery and financial management of these agencies to ensure they effectively and efficiently deliver their services.

Cumulative reports of the work of our Partner Agencies are available for each of our issue areas - Crime & Drug Use, Early Childhood DevelopmentEmergency & Crisis Services, Financial Stability & Indepedence, and Homelessness.  In addition, reports are available for Other Health Related Services, Legal Services and Schools.

Nonprofit agencies are eligible to receive funds in two ways:

  • Donor Choice - Funds are designated by donors to their favorite charities.  Agencies  do not have to be a Partner Agency to receive designated contributions, but they must operate as a 501 (c) (3), and provide a health or human service.
  • Impact Funding – A group of community volunteers from both the public and private sectors, recommend funding for agency programs and initiatives that will make the greatest impact on our community through one of our five impact areas – early childhood development, crime and drug use, emergency and crisis services, financial stability and independence, and homelessness.
