AUW’s 211 Helpline is available by phone, text, email or online search. When “Lani” texted that she needed help for her husband, she was overjoyed to receive support so easily. “I didn’t know where to look for help so I was so happy to get the guidance. The information got me pointed in the right direction.” Lani’s husband is paralyzed and she wanted to find resources available for physical therapy. It was her first time reaching out to AUW’s 211 Helpline and she was touched by the professionalism and kindness of the Specialist who helped her. “She really made my day. I didn’t know where to start and now I’ll be able to get help for my husband. It was convenient and I’d encourage anyone with a question to call,” shared the caller.
Lani was referred to PK Care LLC and Rehab in Aiea. All callers, no matter what island they are calling from, will be referred to resources in their area and Specialists are trained to ask questions to make the best referrals possible.
